It is a fantastic chance to share a meal, connect with one another, and then put our faith into action right here in our community.
Here's how you can be a part of it:
1. Potluck Lunch!
When: Sunday, February 1st, immediately following our worship service.
Where: Social Hall
What to Bring: Your favorite potluck dish ready to serve! Whether it's a family recipe, a savory casserole, a fresh salad, or a delightful dessert, all contributions are welcome and will add to the feast! The church will provide rice, beans, salad and bread.
2. Service Opportunities!
After we eat, we will transition into impactful serving groups. This is where we truly embody "A Church in Action," extending love and support beyond our walls. Please prayerfully consider where you'd like to serve:
Homebound Visits: Our team will be hanging with those who are homebound. Let's show the love of Jesus by showing support toward those that are unable to physically go to church!
Neighbor Gifts: We will be creating and delivering potted succulents to our local community.
Men's Hangout at CityTeam: Help connect and serve at CityTeam. Let's show the love of Christ to our fellow brothers.
Blessing Bags: Help create blessings bags for the unhoused community. Please donate socks, water, wet wipes, and granola bars.
Heritage Home Service Project: Come join us at Heritage Home in downtown SJ on Sunday, Feb 1st after the family potluck! Heritage Home is part of City Team and is a home and care center for unhoused pregnant women.
There are different ways you can help out on this day, from organizing the clothing pantry in the basement, organizing the outside shed, or simply holding some of the babies to give a mom a break. We are also invited to join the residents for a time of prayer and Bible study. All are welcome: men, women and kids too! Any questions, feel free to reach out to Jessica at jwoodworth246@gmail.com
